I know the summaries, but I don't know who wrote them or their titles:
- A detective series with a girl as the main character. She has an unholy obsession with peppermint tea. Her father is a cop, who has been missing for years (although she finds him alive later). I know one specific mission involved an animal farm (like foxes or weasels or something) who's owner is murdered by his wife, who actually turns out to be a massive animal rights ring leader.
- The earth is overcrowded, and there are now space colonies in use. One space colony launches away from earth, because they know of a future collision that will destroy the planet. They go to orbit near a red planet. A girl on the space colony feels drawn to the planet, which turns out to have a massive consciousness and collects unique minds. They save earth by using a reverse tractor beam to push away the colliding celestial body.
