Anyone using smart2go??

Hi everyone,
I've downloaded the Win executable smart2go app that allows me to generate maps, however, I keep getting an error message about me needing to use the app at least once before the maps can install.

This leads me to believe, obviously, that I need a SIS maps file, however, I can't find it anywhere.

To top it all off, the smart2go web site isn't working properly in the sense that when it comes to downloading, there are no phone options, therefore, it doesn't allow me to go any further.

First, do I need a maps app installed on my phone (my instinct says that I do in fact need *something* to read these maps), and two, where can I download this app?

I'm currently using a E61. Since the app is now FREE, if someone does have the sis, please let me know and I'll send you my email.

Its feb 13 and still no smart2go. Maybe Nokia forgot that they were supposed to launch this app with all the 3GSM excitement.

Rob, if you read the press releases, the app won't officially be available till Feb 10th, which is Saturday. SOrry bud but you're going to have to wait just a few more days.

They've now removed the date on the 'Mobile Search & Maps' site - it just say 'Available Soon' for maps.

I'm just hoping I'll be able to get hold of it before a trip I'm taking on Thursday.

Now they're saying 12th of Feb. I've been waiting for a while and the wait is really killing me. If this works fine, I'll prolly forget the N95, as I won't be paying for the GPS service anyway.

i downoaded it on my n73 and its taking a year and a day to open it, i see the globe and it says 14% and its been open for 5 min, i can walk to my destination before it opens hahahaha.

maps are paid?? I thought they were free. The navigation was supposed to be paid.

Yes the navigation is paid, maps are free. Also, City Guides are paid.

I've currently got TomTom on my N73, I'm going to buy a 7-day license for Smart2Go and do a comparison (yes, I know I'm also supposed to do a comaprison of the free GPS stuff, it's done, I just need to add screenshots and post it)

The first time you open the app, it takes forever to open. After that, it's pretty quick. Where did ya'll download the maps generator for the pC? I couldnt find it on the site this morning (granted i was in a bit of a rush to work)

You can download the map downloader for PC now from that site, but yes the main app is not ready.
