Anyone suffer from burning hip & leg?

I suffer from extreme burning in my buttocks and down my left leg on the outer parts.. At night my legs feels nurab and like Ived touched an electric fence.. MRI does show posterior central disc protrusion at l5 s1.. Ive done the pt and 3 steroid injections but the pain and burning is always there.. Worse at times when i sit.. How can i get this to GO AWAY? I suffer from epilepsy and have enough issues without this.. PLEASE POST AND GIVE ME INFO ABOUT SIMILAR PROBLEMS...

This sounRAB like you might have a problem in your lower back that is causing compression of a nerve....possibly the sciatic nerve, but could be a different one.

I would advise you to see an Orthopedic Spine Specialist (my favorite) or a Neurosurgeon. This doesn't mean you need surgery, but only that you are being seen by someone who best knows how to evaluate test results and get a good picture of what is going on. If steroid injections didn't help, there are other things that can be tried.

However, if the nerve pain is that bad, it could be the compression is pretty bad and the longer a nerve is pinched, the more chance that the nerve can become permanently damaged. That would mean it will not get better. So the sooner you find a good spine specialist, the better. I think it is time.
