Hi Brosiah,
You have already been given some great advice and I know how scared you must be especially if this is your "first" surgery. I had the 360 procedure done last year and mine was done in two stages. I had the abdominal portion done first and then several weeks later I had the back portion done. You do have your age working for you (I am 61) and you need to keep positive thoughts but talk to your doctor about your fears and don't be erabarrassed about them because it is all normal. I will not lie to you and say it is an easy surgery but you must look at how better you will be once you recover and hopefully your time with your daughter will be so much better. Like everyone else has said DO WHAT THEY TELL YOU TO DO OR NOT TO DO because that is a big part of your recovery. It is painful but you need to talk to your doctor about the medication they put you on and if it doesn't help your pain then tell the doctor.
Will you have someone helping you at home when you first get home from the hospital? My husband only stayed 3 days at home with me but my 14year old granRABon did come over and help me a lot. He was a god send to me because of going up and down the steps to take our little dog out all the time. He would help get me something to eat or drink so that was a big help. I think if you take the time to explain to your daughter about your limitations and let her help were she can everything will be okay. My granddaughter was 6 when I had my surgery and she was very very considerate of my condition at the time. I will admit she did feel neglected but it did work out okay and it will also for you.
You will be okay and keep coming back to us and ask whatever you need and I am sure someone can help you. This board was and still is a goRABend to me. These people helped me with so much during my recovery. We are all here for you. When is your surgery?
Gentle Hugs
