Anyone know where can find birthcert of my grandad from 1908 in ireland?

only have details where he lived because he was adopted and none my family know from when or well the ones have talked to
i know he was more than likely born in limerick or northern ireland because of oirgins of the name
 
the census probably.. if you know where he was born, what town.. you could contact the town hall / council people to give you further advice.

but because its so long ago, tricky as the record keeping wasn't so great back then
