root of all evil? I have a number of symptoms, some of which bothered me long before I started smoking. Recently, I was really sick. Fevers, congestion, coughing...Sounds like the flu, right? Well I was treated for that and most of my symptoms went away, but I still had the cough, which was bringing up a yellow or green mucus. I knew this meant infection, so I went back to the doctor. She suggested that I had chronic bronchitis and that it would not go away unless I quit smoking. Well, I didn't quit, and went home and downed a whole bunch of orange juice. It went away. Later, I went back for a strange pain in the bottom of my foot. It was like a rubber band being pulled too tight. That, too, apparently, was due to smoking. I told her that I had sneezing attacks. And I do mean attacks. 6-10 at any one time, usually 2-3 times a day and very powerful. I have had these since I was about 8-and I didn't smoke then. But, guess what? That's right. The sneezing was due to smoking too. I am in no way an advocate of smoking and I know its bad for me. I am also willing to believe that most of these are due to smoking. I just want a doctor who will at least TRY other things.
