Anyone know how to fix holes in clothes?

A couple of weeks ago, I snagged the sleeve of a brand-new shirt on a fence during a fire drill, and now it has a small hole in it. I don't want to tell my parents because I'll get in trouble, but I don't want it to get bigger over time... I know how to sew, but not very well, lol. I don't know how to fix the hole though. If anyone has any idea how to, please help ^.^
