The use of shock collars, electric fencing, and other such devices has shown to cause emotional, social, and physical damage to a dog. They become anxious and aggressive, or lethargic. Dogs become difficult to train for fear of the shock, and over stressed. All of this leads to cardiac anomalies, convulsions, liver and kidney issues, and digestive problems. Using electric shock, or sprays, is not an appropriate means of training an innocent dog.
