BEAUTIFUL SUMMER OF 72
Scores of summers have since emerged,
Through time and space we have merged,
Standing still in absolute mute oblivion,
Our eyes fluttered at an unprecedented union.
We remained transfixed for a nano moment,
It was an incidence of mutual consent,
Our countenances were not our concern,
It was our hearts which love did discern.
The stare we exchanged made us blush,
Were we in love to make such a rush?
Our open arms welcomed and bade,
Come heavens this glorious path have laid.
That spur of ecstatic moment God sent,
Our minds desires did it represent,
Transfixed in a momentary quandary,
There was no scope left for any query.
That moment was one of exquisite unity,
Two souls stood simply as one entity,
Till today though years have gone by,
Our maiden grasp we remember, why.
It was the gift of our life’s union,
Past, present and future communion,
Though ’twas over decades gone by,
Time is still on our side, none can say why.
