This would have been around 1995 that I played it. One of the bad guys was a huge golden centaur. One of the playable characters was female the other two were male. Never saw it anywhere aside from a convenience store by my parent's house, and only played it a few times but I loved it.
Man I loved me some Golden Axe! But this one was a fighting game not a side scroller (sorry, I didn't realize I left that detail out). But all the enemies were really big. I'm thinking as much as 5 times the size as the regular characters. All three fighters could fight at once if you had friends with you.
