Anyone know about hill sprints(training)?

Hello, im a track and field athlete whose main focus is on the sprints. Last year i used to clock in my 100m at around 11.10 seconds. That was last year, but i had a lung collapse recently and after a few months of not running, i participate in track and field again for my last year. But now when i run the 100m, i clock in at around 11.80. And lately i have been doing hill sprints to increase my explosivess, thus speed........................................................................................................So i wanted to know if doing hill sprints will continue to increase your speed for as long as you do them throughout the whole year? or will hill sprints only increase your speed up to a certain point?
