Anyone heard anything about Hot Pipe Coating?

I am looking into the best coatings possible for the upcoming 2010 Termi's. I spoke to a coating shop today, and the owner explained this "new" product. It is called Hot Pipe Coating. It is designed and manufactured by Superior Products International. Is it new? Has anyone heard of it?

It is used to insulate industrial steam pipes; however, I am wondering if anyone has experimented on moto exhausts? It seems like a new version of ceramic coating. Anyone heard anything about this product? Good or bad?

Hmmm, Hot Pipe Coating!

My ex preferred my HPC on her tongue instead of the back of her throat

But on a serious note, what about the weight factor!

How much would you use. It says it is 4 pounds per gallon? Are you coating the entire system? And is there other colors than that putrid white/yellow?

Exactly some of the questions I'm wondering! I saw that weight thing also...how much does regular ceramic coating weigh?

I was hoping someone else may have heard of this...

One thing is for sure im not going to be "that guy" that jacks up a $3700 exhaust trying out a new product. (im not that rich)

The guy did say that after its applied, you would be able to touch the pipes with your bare hand...thats kinda cool...

The guy doing it is offering it for free, since im not sure, and he has enough left from some other coating job...that's IF I decide I want to do it...it still scares me to take a risk without total knowledge that the outcome will be a sucess.

Free is good, but like you said it aint worth ruining a $3700 exhaust sytem. DO some more research. Or even better, have him do a sample on some exhaust pipes to see how it comes out. Buy some from an auto store!

Good grief! He's offering to do it for free and you're actually considering letting this maniac attack your bike with industrial yellow crap pipe coating?

Are you serious? Why not just take your bike into Midas Mufflers to have your ECU and exhaust installed?

Or better yet, after that go to Firestone for new tires and then Sears for the 7,500 mile service.

you're all set.

who knows jules it could be an amazing product...

thanks for the ideas guys. seeing the risk, I figure ill just stick with regular ceramic coating. (Black)
