Anyone have the following bike glitch? (sims 3)?

I am currently suffering a problem within the sims 3 where i am unable to interact with a bicycle for adults and children rendering the bike useless with no interactions hovering over it. The person cannot "own" a car either however i can drive it (only if i click it), as for work, a carpool shows. Anyone know if its a glitch
