Anyone have problems with the check engine light on a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Bad O2 sensor will cause that. I had a Chevy and it came on and stayed on. I put tape over it. The car ran fine the two years it was on.
 
I have had this car for about a year and half now and about a year ago the check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and they said it was some type of EVAC code but wasn't sure what the problem was. Since then it has gone off and come back on randomly. It will come on and stay on for about two weeks then cut off and stay off for two or three weeks and then cuts back on. Anyone else have this problem or something like it? Any ideas on what to do? I'm just about ready to disconnect the warning light period.
