I have had pain for 9 years, with moderate bulges, tears, narrowing showing up on my MRI, but nothing they would do surgery on. This summer I had 3 si joint injections, blind study that shows my si is causing pain. I am scheduled for a fusion Dec. 15th. I did a search and saw that Sage has had this...how are you doing?
My doctor is going in from the back only, a technique from Dr. Stark in Minneapolis.
I would like to have some idea of the recovery...were you allowed to sit after,
how long were you on crutches...did your doctor request a hospital bed and why? Sorry just alot of unanswered things.
I have a daycare in my home, 8 kiRAB so I have to plan how long it will take to get on my feet.
Sure hope this is worth is, but I am willing to take the chance to be able to sit on a chair again, sleep at night, all those things we take for granted.
Anyones input will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Since no one has any info for me, I will try and report on my experience so that others in the future will have a reference...but still, if anyone can help with post-op recovery please let me know. Right now my doctor is saying 6-12 weeks on crutches and that is about all I know.

Faith,

Try to do an advanced search on the name Sage48. She had this fusion done this summer and there are threaRAB in the archives. I believe she always called it the si joint.

Hope this helps some.

Blessings,
Pepper
