Anyone Familiar with open container laws (Massachusetts)?

I was pulled over for speeding and the officer noticed 5 empty beer cans on the passenger side floor. They were simply cans that fell out of a plastic bag (my buddy and I returned 400 cans the week prior) and I foolishly left the loose ones in my car and never removed them. Do I have a chance or can someone offer me advice when I go to the magistrate/court? The cop never smelled the cans, he just assumed I was drinking them that night, which I was NOT.

Sorry bud, unless they took blood for alcohol content, or a breathalyzer test, open container is an open container. Here in Michigan it gives the Police the right to search your car and your person.

Yes I don't think anything could be done about this now, but you may go for a lawyer who will advice you well. I wish you get out of this trouble smoothly and quickly.
