Anyone familiar with Lincoln Park?

I'm going to grad school in Chicago next year and there's a really good chance it's going to be at DePaul's Lincoln Park campus. Is there anyone who knows the area, like decent places to live, good grocery stores, how much I should expect to pay in rent, etc? Any and all info is welcome. Thanks!
 
My son lives on Fullerton in a newer apartment building with 3 other guys. I think they pay around $700 each/month for rent. Hope you have a roommate to ease the burden of rent.

There's a Dominick's supermarket right across the street from De Paul.
