Anyone ever have Pneumonia?

Let me tell you, the absolute worst thing I've ever encountered. I've had it for a month and still haven't fully recovered (though getting better)

The reason for this post is the pain I'm having below my right rib cage that starts near the front and works around my back. I've had horrible coughing fits on and off (daily) for a month. I will say this side has been hurting pretty bad. Doctor gave me vicoden which seemed to work a little at first, however, isn't doing much now.

I wake up today and literally can hardly move. Is it possible that I've been coughing so hard that I tore something? My doctor seems very unconcerned with it and doesn't seem to have the answers. He's Indian and really doesn't communcate well. Any advice would be appreciated, I'm considering going to the ER

You very well could have at least pulled a muscle. But the coughing is good for you so that junk comes up out of the lungs. Try hugging a pillow really tightly when you have to cough. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
 
Thanks for the answer..I still have a little green gunk left in me, however, it is hard to breath as much as cough. You're absolutely right though, I like the pillow idea and plan on trieing it
 
I have had pneumonia 3 times. Not fun. THe first time I was hospitalized. Warm steamy showers, lean over the edge of the bed with your head down and cough. It helps get the gunk out. It took a good month to feel human again. I did have pain too and hugging the pillow is a great idea. I have heard of ribs being cracked from coughing so hard but there isn't really much you can do as ribs aren't wrapped anymore. You are still on antibiotics?
 
Thanks Mel...Just got back from Th ER and they said it's Exoskeletal..I'n finally feeling slightly better after some painkillers and am relieved it's nothing serious

The thing is, this Pneumonia is all my fault..I let it go unchecked for several weeks until it finally got out of control and turned into full bore Pneumonia..Never Ever again, I guarantee that
