Anyone ever convert to a jockey shift?

If like the idea go for it, had a 51 Panhead and while didn't really mind the hand shifting as thats the way it was built, I sure have no desire to convert one ..

your gonna love it....lil shaky in the beginning stuff like takin foot off clutch at a light and lurching foward...wanna lean to the right a lil at stops so u dont have to take foot off clutch.... definitely made more cautious behind some one...take offs were not to bad,,,couple of stalls in the begining ,,,youll learn to feather your foot like you did the hand clutch,,,,good luck have fun ,,,be safe,,,,oh yea 40 million shifter knobs to pick from...i have like 5 in the garage ...still rock the hurst shifter i picked up at a swap meet for 5 bucks..

If someone made a kit that duplicated the '50's era Police style clutch pedal and tank shift, it would be a really cool modification. The original clutch pedal was a rocker type that could be rocked all the way over center so you could have both feet down at a stop. Then you rock it back to re-engage the clutch. With a tank shifter this would be an awesome retro look to a modern day twin-cam Electra Glide.

The shift lever only style clutch, where you have to hold the lever down with your foot while stopped (unless you go into neutral which is not really safe to do at a stoplight) are much more difficult to use without much practice, I imagine. Also reaching under your ass to shift a bagger is not nearly as cool as it is on a chopper or custom softail.

All I said is it would be a conversation piece. My bike is already a conversation piece! A HA!

I want my bike to be different, one reason why I went with denim paint and polished pieces. With this jockey shift and suicide clutch, it would make it even more different.

I'm always in neutral at stop lights so that won't bother me. As with everything, practice makes perfect. I have no fear I will master it within a few rides.

This is the exact reason why I want to do it. Just because it's not for most people. Just like my paint job.
