Baby #3 due June 2009

My doctor prescribed citra natal and it makes me burp fish taste. Like I just ate fish. Its so gross!!! Does anyone know of anyway to make this stop other than stop taking the prenatal?
Deb- my OB prescribed this and it actually contains no mercury, and its actually really good for the baby, it just doesn't have a good flavor to it.

i know what you mean i tryed two different pre-natals because of that reason and both made me burp fish. i take mine right before i eat a big dinner and then by the time im done eating dinner all i taste is my dinner that i have just ate.

Try eating something when you take it. Something thats a little more pleasant to you or just call your dr and tell him its making you sick, that way you'll get a different one

take a regular multivitamin (check the daily value levels to make sure there is 100% of all the required nutrients) and supplement with an enteric coated fish oil capsule. Also putting fish oil in the freezer will prevent fish burp.

I'm taking Expecta Lipil (which my doctor suggested I take because I don't eat fish or other seafood), in addtion to my regular prenatal vitamin. It is made from a NON-fish source, but it does contain DHA, which is an omega-3 fatty acid.
