anyone else pick up Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam?

fucking cool racer. it's like ssx tricky but with skateboards and a lot more fun. controls feel great. i wish i had more 'motes so i could get down with some multi-player.

this is WAY better than ssx. tons of different racing modes- huge fucking levels that they chop up to make different. jesus christ, this game is sick.

hmmm...so the controlls work with this one? I've been playing tony hawk sinse n64/ps1 days really like the series but it seems strange to play tony hawk with the wii controller. I guess since its a racing game it would work out. glad to hear its fun, maybe I'll give it a shot.

give yourself some time to really learn and master all the controls. old school tony hawk fans will be more htan impressed. as far as multi-player racers go at launch, i can't think of a better one. i tried excite truck and it wasn't great at all.

yeah you just tilt it left and right- you don't even think about it after a while. at first it looks really simple but there's a lot of depth in mastering the controls.

Rented this last night. Played it for 10 minutes and turned it off. The skater isn't anywhere as responsive to the remote as the cars in Excite Truck are. Getting them to turn was an exercise in frustration. Fuck this game.

Excite Truck will be the benchmark for how a racing game should respond to the remote until something comes along that's better.

you need to upgrade to better skatebords, figure out how to finess it and use the a button to power slide

once you start doing all of that and getting boosts from powerslides you can see just how well the remote works. grinding in htis is WAY more controllable with the remote than any other platform

oh if you even like ssx at all you will love this game. what reviews are you reading?






even the bad ones still have nice things to say- i would read the good ones and see what you can expect from the game in terms of fun. everyone who hates the game only spends 10 minutes with it. spend a good hour and youll be carving and power sliding with boosts like woah.
