I have the most odd issue that has me completely stumped. I have 2 9242, my installer installed a second upstairs, hes very good.

Anyway for some odd reason while I was hooking IR emitters up, my phone connection came unplugged downstairs.

The minute I plugged it in the entire phone system went out in our house.

I figured the install guy did something. SO I try to order via internet, bell says the system is down try again later, so I call to order, the lady in the recording simply says the system is down, call again later.

SO did anyone else have a problem ordering, or furthermore there phone line going out saturday night.

I ordered a movie tonight over the internet, the system was back up, so I tried the phone line again, works perfect, does not cut out dial tone on our other phones.

This is extremely weird, and also worrying me if bell system goes down again is our entire phone system in our house going down again?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Do you have a VoIP phone by any chance?
The internet was having problems in NA on Dec. 28th

It could have just been the pins in the 9242 were touching/shorting when the phone line was plugged back in

Had no problem ordering it in my area. I tend to order them a couple of hours early tho because in the past i've had issues waiting until just before they start.

Ordered it through phone line / reciever, also ordered another PPV for my wife the same night on 1 of our other recievers and had no problem. same way through phone line / reciever.

There was a post by somone else previously where if you plug the phone cable into the network jack at the back of the 9242 then it will short out your phones. Check to make sure you are plugging it into the correct jack. An RJ11 (phone) plug will fit into a RJ45 (network) slot.

Probably exactly what I did, had no idea phone cable fits into a network slot.
