I would definitely make an appointment with a doctor. Sometimes the home pregnancy tests can give a negative reading when it is actually positive. A doctor can order a blood test to determine the human growth hormone more accurately. There are numerous other non pregnancy health issues such as thyroid problems that could be causing this fluctuation. There are numerous reasons why you might be late beside pregnancy for instance if you were taking an antibiotic this could cause
a late period. Stress is another factor that could cause a late period. The only safe way to be sure is to seek medical care. I'm 50 and still not going through menopause. My mother's side of the family average age was around 55 for the onset of menopause. I haven't had any hot flashes yet. But my mother had an earlier onset of menopause at age 45. Check with your doctor just to be safe. Good luck.

I have been having hot flushes for about 3-4 weeks, irregularly through the day and night, can't seem to sleep, extremely moody, and my period is about 2 weeks late. I've done 2 digital hpt's and they were negative. But then a couple of minutes before after a flush I can be freezing! I've also been feeling nauseous and light headed for a few weeks too. I done an online early menopause checklist and I have 12 of the 14 symptoms but I'm only 30.
Could it be menopause or something else? Please help!

Keep track of what you eat. When your sugar levels drop to low it can cause all kind of weird Sensations. Or you got two defective hpt's in a row and you are pregnant.

My wife's sister started her menopause at 35 years old. So, you may have started. Stop guessing, go and see your doctor to be sure. Maybe he can give you something to relieve the symptoms.
