Anyone drive a 2009 mazda 3?

hi im buying my first 2009 mazda 3 i touring sedan in a automatic everything power no sunroof. ive read reviews but still what your thoughts on this car. do you like it pros and cons hows the mpg i live in the hills so im sure it will depend. everyone keeps saying get a 5 speed but i want a automatic my last car was a stick. is it true that automatic transmissions go out faster and with less milage then a stick shift please help me with that thought im sure its not true...anyone with children out there how well can you fit carseats in this is there enough room for traveling thanks
