i just recently picked up a JAF/PKey flasher (NOT PHOENIX), which supposedly should be able to flash dead bb5 phones via usb (www.odeon.cn), if anybody would like me to try to recover your phones, drop me a message. I'd like to test it out, but don't feel like killing my phone to do so. if you have any interest or any questions, feel free to message or reply here.

Charlie -- whats the diff between this and phoenix, just out of curiosity (since phoenix can supposedly flash dead phones as well).

i don't think all phones can be flashed as dead over usb you need the fbus cable to hook to it to get it back to life. those jaf boxes should be able to get more stuff back running.
