Is anyone using the new Pitbull rear wheel trailer restraint system on their bike? If so, how is it working out? Would you recommend it, particularly if you have a single-side swingarm setup?
I use it and it is perfect. Bike is rock solid. No more worries about ever having to strap it down.
I use it on a small 4x8 open trailer. Only problem I ever have is when I roll the bike up the ramp I am sometimes a little to far to the left or the right so it will of course not lock in. Not a big deal but I then have to roll the bike back down and then back up again to center it.
In a trailer with a little more space where it is flat and you don't have to worry about walking the bike up a ramp this should not be an issue at all.
Ok, so I just ordered two of them; one for my 1098 and one for my wife's 09 CBR1000RR. We're going to install them on our 2 rail Kendon trailer. We'll report back when they come in and we get them installed...
I have a "strapless transport stand" brand that I bought at my dealer. Wish I would have bought the pitbull. mine requires you to roll the bike forward and then back into the stand. I end up wasting space in the front of my trailer instead of putting the front tire against the front wall.
I've had mine about a year now and it works great. It's kind of finicky though, like Tyson said you've got to be lined up juuuuust perfect to get latched in. It holds true and I don't worry about it.
You can put it in either, there is a flat plate that bolts to the floor/bed which can be installed to capture the restraint from the front or back of the rear wheel. I have an extra one for sale I'll be posting shortly.
