I never really had a chance to watch it at the time during its airing in 1999, also unfamiliar with the comic book series it was based off of, but from what I've seen it was visually magnificent.

I remember the opening sequence being awesome, wish there was a full version of the song

Have they/are they ever going to release the series on DVD?
 
After hearing so much about this show on /co/ I decided to check it out and I was dissappointed.

The show has beautiful animation and the concept wasn't too bad, however most of the plots were mediocre. They weren't bad but they were nothing special either. Not to mention that theres a lot that isn't explained and if it wasn't for wiki I wouldn't have known and it did add to the shows depth.

An alright show, nothing special but not bad. The opening and ending were indeed awesome.
 
I remeber seeing promos for this during it's run on FoxKids, but never got to see it. I recently re-discovered this series on Youtube, I love it. I wish there was another season, or atleast a DVD release.

My main complaint with the series is the music. Some pieces are great, others were just loud and annoying. I did love the opening and ending song. The very end of the last episode got on my nerves too. It was a really good ending until the last... 10 seconds when
we see Jose is still alive =/
 
That part at the end with the cape was just craziness.

The episodes that I did watch were a little goofy (there was some slapstick sound effects here and there). It would still be nice to see more stuff like this attempted anyway.
 
The mood the voice acting they were all good, but its the actual plots that were weak most of the time. Not to mention like I already said a lot of the plots you don't even understand unless you look up info online about the comic.

Also the slapsticky-ess felt kind of off during the show, its like the show couldn't be totally serious or light and you get a weird combination.
