So when I was small my teacher read this book for the class, and I remembering liking it really much. I really want to know which book it was, but the problem, is I don't remember the name or the author. Maybe you recognize the plot and know which one it is?

Okey, it's about this little boy. I think his father was a mechanic, because that little boy was really good with cars. I remember that the book said that he could take a car apart and put it back together by the age of seven but he didn't know how to read. He already knew he wanted to be a mechanic like his father(I'm not completely sure whether his father was a mechanic or not, but I think so). But he had to go to school anyway, so he did that.
And then there was something about either turkeys or pheasants, my memory isn't very clear about that, but some kind of birds. They lived in this forest, and there were someone who kept them there, somebody owned them. But then there was a problem about the birds, I don't remember specifically what it was, but at the time I thought it was very exciting (I was like six, so:)). And then the boy wanted to find out what was happening to the birds.

That's all I remember. I would be so glad if anybody could just tell me if they know any book that has a boy who is good with cars and then a forest with some kind of birds in it, because I doubt it's many of those books around :P Thank you so much in advance! ;)
