I am reluctant to go to just anybody as my sinus problem has been severe for so long & in reading about the empty nose syndrome following sinus surgery, I'm hesitant to just go to anybody. I have a recommendation for one in Gainesville, Ga that I am considering who specializes in plastic surgery....is it important to find one who specializes in sinus issues? I have gotten desperate to be ready to resort to surgery as I've put it off for 10 years (actually ENT recommended allergy shots rather than surgery for the concha bullosa). Thank you for any help or advice...I appreciate your sharing.

It's only important to find one who specializes in sinus issues if that's what you're being treated for...so that's a yes. An ENT who specializes in plastic surgery is definitely not the right answer.

The American Rhinologic Society has a list of doctors who specialize in treating diseases of the nose and sinuses so you might start there.

Dr. Paul Garlich in Gainesville. He is plastic surgeon and ENT. He is a great doctor and has a genuine compassion for his patients. Very precise!!!

Thank you, Anglee12! I went for a visit w/Dr. Garlich once I found out he was also an ENT. He does seem very thorough. I was interested in knowing how you were doing after your surgery....tried to PM you. He put me on a 2 wk course of antibiotics, Mucinex & Nasonex to get my sinuses "as good as they would get" prior to a CT-scan. I couldn't take the 1st antibiotic as it was too expensive, tho. He does seem to be a good ENT...thank you for your recommendation. Could you please let me know how you are doing after surgery, I think that may be where he's thinking I will be going also. I so appreciate your sharing your experience with me. If you'd prefer PM'ing, I am open for that. Thank you again. Peggy:)
