Hello.

I've been working on my time series course assignment. I did it but I'm not sure if I did it right. So If anyone could help me, it would be great and I appreciate. The question is below:

In the initial experiment, 10 samples/second are taken (the fastest rate at which the machine will work). The spectrum contains a line at 2.0 Hz. You repeat the experiment with the sampling rate reduced to 9 samples/second and now the line shifts to 3.0 Hz. Assuming that the line is an alias, what is a reasonable estimate of its true frequency?

I thought the sampling rate should be at least twice the maximum content in the signal and got 3.0Hz<2*true frequency. Therefore, my answer is True frequency<1.5 Hz.

Did I do this right? If not, could you tell me how I need to do this? Thanks.
