Anybody else annoyed at verizon for forcing you to buy a data plan?

for some of the basic popular phone models that have been sold for years without requiring a data plan.

I mean phones like the ENV-3, ENV-Touch, Rogue now requre a $10 monthly fee (240 over the plan).

I for one hope Verizon loses some business over this decision. What are your thoughts?
