any writers (playwrights, novelists, poets etc.)?

im looking for any writers who use modern day language maybe even slang. The reason is me and my m8 got into an argument that originated from us listening to a libertines song which at one point goes 'what a f*cking waster you p*ssed it all up the wall.'
I thought it showed exclamation using the sear words and derogatory language but my m8 disagreed. He swears a lot but i'd like to show him a book or play (or anything) which shows how swearing can be effective used rightly.
Anyway I know im babbling on and this is a pointless argument im trying to win but im hoping if i can convince my m8, he'll stop swearing left,right and centre
