Any way to use a sprint phone for boost mobile? Any hacks/software methods?

I bought a Sprint phone, assuming I could use it for Boost Mobile (since Sprint owns Boost Mobile...), but at the store they said it couldn't happen. Is there any way to get around this, and get Boost via my Sprint phone? It's an Intercept, which both Sprint and Boost use - so it should be the same hardware, I would think.
