Any way to get rid of Idle State fonts on a 6102?

I'd like to make the Cingular logo, the time, and such transparent or invisible so that it doesn't block my view of my wallpaper... there's an option to change its color, but nothing to make it go away...

If you know a way, please let me in on this info, it's sorta driving me insane haha
