Any way to get a Sprint smartphone or blackberry without the new everything data plan?

I am currently on the outdated family everything messaging plan 1500 for 69.99, and have been for many years. I want to upgrade my phone to a smartphone/ blackberry/ palm. However, Sprint is trying to force the WAY overpriced new everything plan on me that I don't need. Since i use wi-fi, I could care less about the data plan.

So. Could I buy one of these smartphones from wal-mart or ebay and avoid upgrading my plan to something so expensive?
