Any tips on quieting whining puppies?

We got two 8 week old puppies and they whine, whine, WHINE! It's getting pretty annoying and our family is not getting any sleep! I heard something about putting peanut butter in those little red rubber Kong toys. But they finish it off in seconds! They whine for an hour before going to sleep. Clapping and making sounds don't work. Please help!
 
whatever you do, don't keep going back to help them. they ahve to learn that whining won't get them anything.

for my dog, we just ignored him when he whined. nowadays he knows that we'll be around if he really needs anything.
 
one way is to show a little discipline. don't hurt them but you should also try to see if the hurt any where but that's your best bet.
 
they want attention 2 things you can do 1 let them sleep with yous or 2 ware them out with a good long walk or run and they will fall asleep good luck works for me hope it works for you
 
Unfortunately, you just have to wait it out! The quickest and best way to get them to stop this, is to totally ignore them when they whine.
 
I raised rots for over 12 years,the dogs are way to young to be away from its mom ,at this age it needs to be bottle fed with warm milk,it is suffering from separation this pup must be treated like a baby because at 8 wks it should still be breast feeding and in must be accommodated for with proper milk and so on.
 
If there is someone in your family those dogs are more attached to try taking something out of their dirty laundry pile and throw it in the pups bed at night. The smell of that one person calms the dogs down and usually they will fall asleep on top of it. Sometimes the sound of a ticking clock wrapped in clothing also helps. (The sound mimics the sound of their mothers beating heart).

well you could try the clicker everytime they whine click the clicker or crate them everytime they whine put them in a crate or cage
 
ok i heard from people and read that putting a alarm clock that ticks under theyr pillow or in theyr bed helps cuz the tick reminds them of the mothers heart beat and it calms them down:) just make sure the alarm is shut off lol
 
I know you said sounds don't work, but I have a 3 month old puppy and he sleeps in a crate at night and when I put him in the crate I turn the light off, cover it with a blanket and turned the dryer on he loves it. Also my friend told me to try like a clock that makes the ticking noise but I haven't tried that before. Hope this helps some. Good luck.
