My girlfriend has been undergoing a lot of stress this past year or so. She was diagnosed with acid reflux about 3-4 months ago. A month ago she started having moderate to severe pain in her left abdomen (next to her belly button). She went to the ER, they kept her for a few days doing tests. She went through two CT scans and lots of blood work (which show no signs of infection). Kidney stones/infections, ovarian cysts, and UTI have all been ruled out. One scan suggested a "telescoping" intestine, but an x-ray the next day showed otherwise. They released her not knowing what is wrong. Last week she had an endoscope, but the initial tests showed nothing. They took an intestinal sample and are testing it for bacteria (won't know results till end of the week). She's been drinking xango (mangosteen juice) and says it lowers the pain by almost half when she takes it. We were thinking an ulcer or cyst. is it possible for these to be on the outside of the intestine instead of the inside? If so, what tests would show it? We are both at a lost and don't know what to do. anyone experience anything like this or have any suggestions?
