Any suggestions on what would go well with a distressed black denim sport coat?

Thinking of both casual looks, as well as when i want to be dressed up...Also, would khakis or formal pants go with a denim sport coat? Or should i stick to using only jeans?
Would appreciate any suggestions..Thanks!
