I am currently in grade 12 and I am planning on going into Music for Vocal Performance. I will either attend BC U, U of Vic, U of Ottawa, or U of Western Ontario.
I have been taking voice lessons for a couple years and have been to a few voice 'schools'. I took piano for a year, but my theory and sight reading skills are not so good. From what I have been told, I have the talent to get into these universities.
I have been working on sight reading very hard for the past couple months, as well as some theory.
My question is:
Should I take a year off before going to university to get more theory and experience in voice.
or
Should I go right after high school. That way I am still in school mode...
I am working on theory and sight reading this year, I just don't know if it will be enough.
Any thoughts, comments, suggestions, would be wonderful!
