Any suggestions for fishing tourny?

I'm joining a fishing tournament with my dad and its a season contest to see who can catch the most edible fish. Any suggestions on what bait to use for what fish? I'm relearning the whole experience and have had some real fun these last few weeks. Thanks!
 
Valveeta cheese always worked for me. You mix a little cotton from a cotton ball with it and smear it in real good to a treble hook with a spring in it. That way the cheese doesn't come off so easy.
