I'm absolutely awful at writing poems, so I'm hoping to get a little feedback from this one that I had just finished writing for an English project:
Two-Faced
I maintain two different faces,
The first:
Polite and Affable,
Courtious and Distant.
When people smile,
it smiles back.
Blending to the norms of society,
it maintains an isolation
to eliminate contiguity,
to eliminate suspicion,
of the second face.
The second:
Smallest of the two
but hardest to control.
It pleads to escape
the prison of the first, plastic face.
It burns with the fire of hate, love,
desire, passion,
sadness, despair
but all fire dowsed
by the envelopping first face.
One day,
the second face will win against the first,
and all concealed feelings will finally burst.
