Any recommendations/thoughts on Bikejoring/Skijoring and Hiking with my dog?

I have a 19 month old East Siberian Laika, and I have these trails [used to be for cutting down trees for our town, but the new owner stopped that] that I walk/jog on with my mum and/or brother.
On the occasion I'll take my Laika with me, but she tires me out quicker than just jogging would.

I'm thinking of Bikejoring/Skijoring with her -- but I have a couple of questions.
I want to Bikejor with her primarily in the summer/fall/spring times -- and then Skijor with her in the winter/spring months.

Bikejoring -- What type of bike would be best for Bikejoring with her around town and through the hills? Any particular brand of Bikejoring equipment to go with it?
Skijoring -- What type of hip belt [thingy] should I use? Any particular brand you'd suggest? With or w/o a shock absorber?
Hiking -- Again, what type of hip belt should I use? Brands? With/without shock absorber? Any other equipment you'd suggest?

All thoughts are welcome.
Brands/sites are even more fantastic.
Cheers!

I ordered my Skijor/Hiking belt through Ultra Paws. It is very comfortable (a must) and it has reflective strips on it for higher visibility. Its also adjustable with a quick release (also a must just incase!). Shock absorber another must, you can easily get a back injury if they jerk you real hard off stops or around corners...the shock absorber saves your body from injury! The Skijoring set up works perfect for Hiking (same thing just minus the skis), and is easy to convert over to Bikjoring (which I do on occasion using just my old GT Mountain bike).

Only other note is to start slow with harness training your dog is not quite 2, and is still developing physically...too much too soon can be a bad thing.

Check out these sites though, it's where I got all of my stuff:
http://skijornow.com/skijornowhome.html (the harness I prefer)
http://www.ultrapaws.com/pages/Skijoring_Gear.shtml (cheaper than skijornow and the equipment is amazing)

Nooksack Racing Supply makes everything you need for both sports. I have been very happy with everything i have purchased from them for over a decade. I have tried several skijoring belts and like theirs best. A rock climbing saddle works good, too. Check the web site, then call them and discuss what you need. They will give good advice.

I'm not sure where you live, but here is a good site for some skijoring equipment

Make sure you do purchase a proper harness for her, a lot of people seem to think that they can use your standard harness available at any local pet store for pulling. The problem with these is that the weight would be imbalanced for pulling and lead to harming the dog.

As for bikejoring, here is a good attachment. You really don't need a specific type of bike (I suggest mountain bike?)

I love skijoring and plan to bikejore this summer! Have fun!
