Any Other New C109R Owners??

I have had my c109r now for about,a month. What an incredible machine it really is. Bought it up here in Canada, new for $10,700.00. "The Beast" now has approx. 600 kms on it and runs awesome, no knocking or chirping issues at all[we can still get very high octane gas here].My question is I now want to install the T.R.E., will I get the performance I'm reading about and mainly, I don't want to damage the engine or tranny at all. thanks for any help

I took my TRE off the other day to check on an electrical problem I was having, just to eliminate it for test ride. I thought I had a brake dragging as I had gotten so used to the instant response. It will make it slightly more jumpy when trying to go slow around the parking lot, but that will go away as you get used to it. I was real jumpy when I first got mine, even without the TRE.

I've had the TRE on for close to 8,000km and have had no problems with it.
Picked mine up in Canada last June and just turned 26,000km on it.

:)
If you've got any questions about the TRE, ask GMan. Not only did he create the TRE, but he rides the C109 as well.

Is it just me or did Suzuki's designers take the day off when it came to the windshield?

I mean it's HUGE and awesome, but it's a HUGE pain in the ass to remove and put back on again.
Could those four bolts BE in a worse place??

Yeah, I think possibly they had an apprentice/intern training day that day.........It is a pain.... If you come up with a fix, let me know.

Jesus, like a quick release would have been too hard to do!
I scratch the crap out of the chrome or the windshield every time I remove it

Bought new C109RT on Friday. Yesterday was the maiden voyage (600kms). Was a bit
nervous on some tight curves because of the weight, but bike is easy to adapt to. One flaw ... bike leans way too much on the kickstand ... Suggestions?
Thx
Openroad

I've always worried about that myself. It DOES have a good lean and that's alot of weight, but I've had mine 14 months and it's never shown any chance of stressing the stand.
If you want piece of mind without modifying the stand, carry a small piece of 2x4 to slip under the foot, or a hockey puck.
Yeah, I know, a Canadian suggesting another use for a puck, but what the hell!

Welcome by the way, you'll enjoy the bike and the concern about leaning it in corners goes away. You lean and counter steer more and as long as you don't try and corner like you would with a bike with narrower bars, you'll be cornering with the lighter bikes in no time.

Take your time, get used to it and it'll feel like any other bike

Have any of you guys thought of doing a mod to correct the "short" kickstand? I'm currently thinking of one myself.

Hi guys. I am picking up my C109R today. A shop here had one '08 hold over left so I snagged it. Picking it up today at 4pm. Funny how the clock slows down when you are glancing at it every 5 minutes!

I'd love to hear any suggestions/experiences anyone wants to share. This bike looks amazing to me. Been riding a long time and just turned 40. I think this will be the perfect fit for me.

There's tons to learn and read here.
Feel free to sift through it all and ask questions as you have them.

It's a very knowledgeable bunch!

Well I've read quite a few posts all over the forums about the best way to get the tank stickers off, but I figured since I own a C now I would come ask you guys what you would suggest. Sounds like I have quite a chore ahead of me.

Just finished the buy on a black c109r. She is being stored at the dealer till spring, as here in Ontario no riding through the snowy winter. Looking for things to add over this winter to the bike.

Just thought I'd share this bit of disappointing news with the rest of you c109 owners. I've been waiting since April of 08 for Vance and Hines to put out an exhaust system for my ride and found out last week after talking with them that there hasn't been enough interest for them to bother making up a template. Talk about a kick in the ass! The rest of the Loudass crap on the market doesn't interest me even a little bit. :-(
