I've been considering a career in Medical Coding for a while now,and I've been researching all the different colleges and courses that provide the required education. The Medical Coding course offered by Kaplan Continuing Education sounds ideal:It's affordable,100% online,AHIMA approved, and the length of the course isn't that bad.
The thing is that since the economy went downhill and money is kind of tight, even an affordable course is kind of expensive, and while I do have the money to pay for a course,I only have the money to pay for it once.If the program is crap, then I'm just skrewed.
So here are my questions:
1.For anyone who has taken and passed the Medical Coding Program offered by Kaplan Continuing Education, did the program properly educate and prepare you for a job in the Medical Coding field?
2.Is Kaplan Continuing Education, which is a park of Kaplan University,a decent school?Do they have proper credentials, and are they legit?
Thanks,
-Daniel F.
