Dr Rosenblum got a bit testy on phone.I never met Phair. So if I had gone for this surgery, what would happen if I did need a fusion while on operating table?Would he have to bring Dr Phair in?he never explained none of it,except its extremely painful having a fusion and that he says instrumentation causes nothing but problems.I'm glad you responded to this,I got more from you than the doctor,I never knew he doesn't do fusions either. He only said by looking at MRI that he felt 99 percent didn't need no fusion.

yes I had 2 different opinions on that MRI,Estin says fusion,Rosenblum says need removal of bone on each side to relieve pressure on nerves.I wanted a 3rd opinion couldn't get it.i had a denervation which helped the most but they refuse to allow another treatment, this who worker comp stinks.you do not get the care you need, its not right.

I showed positive L5 S1 discogram too.disc narrowed some.I also saw Dr Estin he said I need fusion but need weight off cause will not fuse,I been so confused by this whole mess and no solution in sight.what type surgery you had done 4 years ago?

having surgery on 2.20.08 by him.. 2 level fusion : l4/l5 , l5/s1:..
nervous as could be , i do trust him very much.. i'm just looking
for someone out there who used him before , he's an ortho. DR.

THANKS

Wow. it's small world. I had MicroD done by Dr. Rosenblum before at Riverview in october 2006. He was recommended to me by my Physical Therapist. I never had a problem with sciatic pain anymore.

Never had with Dr. Phair but did he see him once.

Good luck with everything.

I heard Dr.David Estin is good from Long Branch or Bruce Rosenblum in Shrewsbury,he did my first surgery

hey
yeah dr. rosenblum did my first surgery back in 2004 , i saw him 4 months ago and he sent me in for a discogram.. after he saw the results he then sent me to dr. phair.. rosenblum is a very good neuro. dr. but he wanted me to see an ortho.dr.
i am having surgery in 10 days - 2 level fusion / / good luck and thank you for the response..

yes I saw him ;last year he recommended a decompression type surgery to relieve pressure off nerves,he said he didn't think I needed a fusion, never mentioned Dr Phair at all.the receptionist told me that rosenblum doesn't use instrumentation,so I kind wonder about it.I got all shook up and cancel surgery,he returned my call was very nasty something I never expected from him

i had a lamenectomy{spelling off} 4 years ago by doctor rosenblum.. doctor bruce rosenblum is a fantastic doctor , he does not have the best bed side manners.. when you are having a back surgery you want the best doctor with the most experiance and best reputation.. Dr. rosenblum has that , before i used him in 2004 i did my homework to see if he was the right one for surgery & he DEF. was.. i'm a union carpenter and i probally should'nt have went back to that line of work after my surgery in 2004, but thats what i am a carpenter.. i hurt my back again about a year ago , just working to much and now i 'm having another surgery in one week 2.20.08 l4/5 , l5/s1 fusion... i saw Dr. rosenblum first and sent me in for a mri and a discogram , after he read the discogram he refered me to Dr.Phair...
i'll be to the point now sorry for rarabling on i did not like Dr.Rosenblum at first when i met him , thought he was rude and had no manners. i could tell that he meant buisness and that surgery was the last resort . after injections . P.T , and numerous tests - he then said i needed surgery.. he grew on me and now i take his advice very seriously..

i wish you luck and ask all the questions you need to ask , we're all here to help !!
billy

HEY. well for what its worth i would go with Dr.Rosenblums opinion.. my mother is a nurse at BAYSHORE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL , and she nos plenty of people who highly recomend him.. i had surgery with him , and also met alot of people who had successfull surgery with doctor R..

Again its totally up to you , it's your body and you have to make the ultimate desion ; in my case i don't have a choice i need surgery to move on in my life , i can barely walk , and have way to much pain in my lower back..
good luck dude billy

i'm sorry to hear that.. i'm a little confused though , who was nasty on the phone ? DR.ROSENBLUM OR DR.PHAIR ? I HAVE SEEN them both , and they are wounder full doctors ! rosenblum does not perform surgerys such as fusions that need roRAB + screws erc... and phair does .. that being said dr.rosenblum performed surgery on me 4 years ago , and he is very good.

good luck billy

Hi Bill,
It just seems that back in 1995 was a cinch of a surgery,he did the microdisctecomy, like they do today,he avoided the fusion deal back then when a Dr Fox was going to do it.guess should had it then, was 39.anyway got 10 years before next WC injury finished the deal.which having trouble with.hard to get authorizations for anything, not even meRAB.I felt he did great job,but he also explained better, this time was a rush deal.Guess got overwhelmed about the surgery, thinking you may end up with complete different procedure.just the thoughts of the recovery,I hate nerve pain.

also who ever you use as your doctor , they should and will no what type of surgery you will need to get healthy.. a fusion is when they take out your discs , either due to DDD,HERNIATIONS,STENOSIS, ETC... doctors will place bone from either your pelvis or bone bank into the space that your discs were. they then graft it , then place roRAB and screws to secure the graft..
i'm not a doctor , but if you do need a fusion your doctor will no just by reading your mri . i hope i helped you out in any way.

hello bay03 , your from marlboro hah - i live in old bridge !!! beautifull out there today , rainy - windy - no sun , it just makes my back feel dandy : thanks for your response i will be having surgery exactly one week from today at RIVER VIEW HOSP.
Dr.Rosenblum is a fantastic doctor , was just chaten to another person about him.. Rosenblum performed A lamenctomy{spelling off} on me in 2004 , got good results from that surgery BUT it's round 2 for me.. i never was 100 % after surgery and probally will never be , i need to get out of pain though. so that being said i'm a getten a lurabar fusion l4/l5 , l5/s1 - 2 roRAB , 6 screws the whole deal..
glad to hear your surgery went well and i will let ya no how mine makes out.
billy
