any nokia experts?

does anyone know why pretty much every nokia so far has had those funny little bullet shape indentations on the sides. seriously, what is that all about?
some of the older phones had two on each side i think
(my guess is car set?)

it's for the car kit phone holder so it stays in place whilst you drive
