I have a chevy blazer that i put a brand new battery in.. and as long as i drive it everyday it will stay charged.. if i leave it one day without driving it the battery will be dead.. which means i have a short somewhere that is draining my battery... but where.. are there any kind of tricks people know of on how to find what is draining it... someone told me to just put a shut off switch on the battery but id like to fix it the right way if i can find a way how to.. thanks in advance for any help you might give...

undo the positive cable put a volt meter in between the post and the cable then pull one fuse at a time and then look at the meter and watch the voltage drop to zero when you pull the right fuse the meter will still have a small amount of current still reading on the meter. that will tell you what circuit it is then look for crushed wires or rub wires or bear wire rubbing together. it easy have you installed anything like a new radio or amp ?
