Any mecha shows this season?

Well, Code Geass and Gundam 00 are long over with, and Z Mazinger won't be around forever, so any new giant robot series coming?
 
Judging from the fall season there seems to be a trend towarRAB visual novel and fantasy type material, along with shonen adaptations like Letter Bee and Fairy Tail.

In other worRAB, looks like a no-go for launch.
 
Speaking of which, I hope oo7565 makes his usual "season preview" thread soon. That pictorial of every new show always helps to see what looks good or interesting.
 
There is one like that here, though I expect discussion will begin anew once blogs and fansites start taking a closer look and trailers start getting posted.

I like a good mecha show (obviously!) but we've had a good string of them lately so I won't miss the lack of one this season too much. Besides, there's the past to look at. I'm currently trying out Gad Guard, which isn't too bad.
 
Tried that one a while back.

Except for a few cool moments early on, all the "fight" scenes boiled down to everyone's Techode trying ineffectually to stop a rampaging monster until Katana shows up and shoots it. Made even more ironic when Hajiki is accused of using his Techode as a tool for fighting, even though he usually just uses it to run away.

Plus, the show takes a completely different direction at episode 18, and while your millage may vary, to me it was a downward spiral from there on out.

Also, and I've asked this of everyone who's claimed to be a fan of the series, what exactly was going on at the end of episode 8?
