Any known screen problems with Sony Ericsson vivaz?

Got a vivaz just under two weeks ago. Yesterday it froze. Did all the usual sim, battery out re-boot etc. Phone is switching on can feel it vibrate then the soft keys light up but screen remains blank. Is this a known fault? Have the option to either get another one or cut my losses and get a different handset. Any advice? Cheers
