Any info. on mental illness mask test?

Recently i was watching a documentary on LSD and its effects on the brain. It discussed how LSD could induce a mental illness and went into obscure ways to test for mental illness. One of which included a mask test. There were two pictures of a mask that were seemingly identical but one showed the outside contours of the mask and the other the inside. It was said that only people who have mental illness can see/tell the difference between the two pictures. Before it was said that the pictures were different i had said that they were. The rest of my family who were also viewing the same program did not notice any difference. I was diagnosed with clinical depression a few months before i watched this program. The rest of my family was screened for mental illness to see if there were any contributing factors that could affect me. They did not have any mental illness. I was wondering if this is an effective test for mental illness, if there are any links to such a test, other information on this test, and your own opinions! Thank you!
